The Associate Manager, Global Procurement –Japan will be accountable for supporting the implementing of Procurement activities across all categories in Japan and ensure that outstanding market requirements (regulatory, language, legal, commercial, medical, cultural, etc.) are understood and appropriately addressed.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Global Procurement - International Markets Japan.

As an Associate Manager, Global Procurement, a typical day might include he following:

• Responsible for planning and execution of sourcing initiatives applying the sourcing process which will include working with partners to gather business requirements

• Assisting in the development of global strategies to enable delivery of specific types of services or goods that enable Regeneron business objectives

• Conduct data gathering, spend analytics, and apply market intelligence to enable case development

• Implement supplier selection processes, through evaluation and selection of suppliers

• Negotiating costs with suppliers and drafting contracts

• Participate in supplier performance management

• Understanding of local in country market requirements with solid understanding of ways of working in country, and supply base

• Working as an International markets Procurement team to build processes and drive consistency and development of standard methodology across organization

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field of study plus dynamic experience in procurement, preferably including experience in Pharma/BioPharma.

• 6+ years proven experience

• Ability to speak and write in English Language.

• Understanding of Japan in country market requirements with proven understanding of ways of working in Japan

• Experience in sourcing, category management and contracting across a breadth of categories

• The candidate should demonstrate success supporting cross-functional teams to get results in through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.

• Provide insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable efficient negotiations.

• Uses external data sources, market information, and supplier engagement to constantly improve Regeneron’s knowledge of supply market dynamics.

• Individual who is experienced operating with integrity, focus, and transparency in an environment of ambiguity to lead change and improvement.

• Proven success supporting the global supply market evaluation process using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools.

• Solid understanding with sourcing contracting tools, ERP’s, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba, Other)

• Ability to demonstrate standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
