Data Governance Manager - Platform Administration

Full Time

Way of Work : Remote

Salary: $125,800 - $188,600, plus annual bonus

The Data Governance Department, under the Office of Innovation creates value by ensuring availability, usability, consistency, integrity, security, and connectivity of NiSource data.

The Data Governance Manager - Platform Administration is a people-leadership role, reporting to the Director of Data Governance, and is responsible and accountable for leading a team in the implementation and support of one or more data governance platforms. The Data Governance Platform Manager is a subject matter expert in their discipline and defines the scope and priorities for deploying, enabling and maintaining Enterprise data governance platforms.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leverage technical acumen and data quality best practices to onboard and implement new DQ tooling or technologies

  • Monitor and own Data Governance tooling (including Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Lineage)

  • Establish & maintain connections to scanned data assets (both cloud and on-prem)

  • Proactively manage risks and provide optimal performance / throughput

  • Own & oversee platform enhancements, platform security/patching, communications, change management & usage statistics

  • Serve as subject matter expert on data governance platforms (including capabilities, limitations, feature roadmaps, access & roles/permissions, and connectivity)

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of experience with data analysis including manipulating large data sets, building visualizations, performing data integration, or similar duties

  • 5+ years of experience with databases and database structures including the ability to articulate data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users

  • 2+ years of experience in direct data governance

  • 1+ year of experience in the roll-out and adoption of data quality tools such as IDQ, IBM Cloud Pak, Anomalo, Profisee, DataBuck, Collibra, Alation or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Standing up and utilizing an enterprise data governance platform

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Electric/Gas utility experience knowledge
