Whole Foods Market Engineering Services is looking for a Sr. Product Manager - Technical who is passionate, innovative and has a heart for Nourishing People and the Planet by joining the Whole Foods Market Engineering Services team. This team is deployed to tackle some of our most complex and challenging projects and will deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.

The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a WFM Engineering Services PMT, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts in partnership with Amazon, technology leaders within the team, and across the business.

As Sr. Product Manager - Technical on our team, you will help drive the strategy and business requirements that will create new features. You will help us solve Supply Chain buying and demand problems by innovating the next generation tools. You will work side by side with a talented team of software developers in an agile environment launching new products while managing launched products concurrently. You’ll own building product roadmaps and the long-term vision, drive the day to day product development schedule from design through release, run usability studies with UX, and interact with customers and WFM marketing leadership, and help the operations team remove customer pain points.

The right candidate will possess a strong customer experience and business background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

As the Sr. Product Manager-Technical, your responsibilities will include:

  • Own and define the feature design and technology approach, managing tradeoffs and dependencies with key stakeholders

  • Understand market trends and build business cases for new product opportunities.

  • Dive deep into customer feedback to represent the voice of the customer to the engineering team and other stakeholders

  • Drive feature launches including working with business development, marketing, leadership, customer support, engineering, UX, operations, solution architects, and other product management team members

  • Ability to establish and monitor business metrics to drive the team’s progress toward goals

  • Review with stakeholders status, progress and results of projects

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
