Treasury Analyst

The Treasury Analyst develops, gathers, and supports the Assistant Treasurer with the monitoring and management of the Bank’s liquidity and interest rate risk. Further supports the Bank’s Asset Liability Management (ALM) model, budget/forecasting needs along with general data analysis. Performs and/or assists with the overall investment process which may include general accounting, pledging requirements and pre/post purchase analysis and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 4 to 6 years of banking, finance and/or accounting experience.

This is primarily an on-site position reporting to the Solvay Bank Corporate Office in Solvay, NY.

Position Title: Reports To:

Treasury Analyst Assistant Treasurer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develops, gathers, and supports the Assistant Treasurer with the monitoring and management of the Bank’s liquidity and interest rate risk. Further supports the Bank’s Asset Liability Management (ALM) model, budget/forecasting needs along with general data analysis. Performs and/or assists with the overall investment process which may include general accounting, pledging requirements and pre/post purchase analysis and documentation.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Supports the ALM, Investment and liquidity management functions.

  • Assists with the input and utilization of the Bank’s ALM software to support, monitor, and measure the interest rate and liquidity risk for the bank.

  • Aids with the input, reconciliation, and accounting of the Investment process for the Bank.

  • Supports the monitoring of the daily cash in/out flows with the Bank.

  • Analyzes financial information to help support the Assistant Treasurer determine the present and future financial performance of the Bank.

  • Prepares reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.

  • Supports the preparation of general or historical financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.

  • May support and provide analytical information to assist with the pricing of assets (investments, loans) and liabilities (deposit and borrowings) for the Bank to be most profitable.

  • May assist with the preparation of the bank’s annual report and annual budget.

  • May assist with the preparation of all audit requests internally, externally, and regulatory.

  • Performs other tasks as requested by manager as they relate to the bank and its functions.

  • Adheres to bank policies and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • PC skills with a Windows environment, experience with statistical modeling

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 4-year college degree in accounting or finance

  • 4 to 6 years of banking, finance and/or accounting experience preferred
