Job Summary

The Manager, Interline Strategy and Partnerships is responsible for supporting stakeholder relations between class 1 railroads, shortlines and ports. The role is a part of a team that acts as the centralized contact point for internal stakeholders. Moreover, the incumbent captures and analyzes interline and carload data in order to support the creation of market strategies aimed at carload and intermodal growth.

Main Responsibilities

· Acts as a point of contact for internal stakeholders

· Capture and analyze interline revenue and carload data

· Create market strategies to target growth to carload and intermodal

· Create and present briefing documents, interline strategy documents and top-to-top presentations for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

· Build strong working relationships with internal departments includingFinance, Legal, Operations, Sales, and Marketing as well as external stakeholders

· Work with Business Units (BUs) on marketing and commercial opportunities

· Work with Operations, Joint Facilities, and Finance to identify commercial opportunities for growth and support efficient interchanges as well as analyze build ins to the network

Working Conditions

The role is performed in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role is eligible to participate in CN’s hybrid work policy of 3 days at home and 2 days in the office. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires minimal travel (10%) within North America.

Strategy

· Between 5 to 7 years of experience instrategy, marketing, sales, operations, transportation, logistics or supply chain in a railroad environment

Education/Certification/Designation

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Accounting, or Marketing

· Knowledge of Business Objectives, tableau, and Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP)

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

· Knowledge of capturing and consolidating reports

· Proficient in technical writing

· Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)*
